We’re thrilled to welcome you to the official blog of Ontario Career Lab — a space where we share insights, stories, and resources to help students, parents, educators, and career coaches navigate the future of work with confidence.

At Ontario Career Lab, our mission is simple: to spark meaningful career conversations early, starting in Grades 9 and 10. By connecting students with real-world volunteers — professionals, entrepreneurs, tradespeople, and more — we open doors to possibilities that may have never crossed their minds.

We believe that the earlier students understand what’s out there, the more empowered they’ll be to make informed choices about their education and their future. And we’re here to support every step of that journey — whether you’re a student looking for direction, a parent eager to help, or a volunteer ready to make a difference.

What you can expect from this blog:

  • Career spotlights: Get to know the people behind the professions — from electricians to engineers, nurses to UX designers.
  • Volunteer stories: Hear why our career coaches joined the Lab and how one conversation can change a student’s path.
  • Tips & resources: Learn how to support career exploration at home, in the classroom, or through community involvement.
  • Behind the scenes: Stay up to date with program news, updates, and success stories from across Ontario.

We’re just getting started, and there’s so much more to come.

If you’d like to become a career coach or learn more about the program, click here to get involved. And if you're an educator or parent looking for tools to spark career conversations, stay tuned — we’ve got resources on the way.

Let’s help Ontario’s next generation dream big — and plan even bigger.

Welcome to the Lab. Let’s build the future together.
